Uniform Uniform Adherence Policy
1. Introduction
National Crime Prevention Service (NCPS), registered in the Commercial Register of the Republic of Bulgaria under (NCPS Ltd) Bulstat / UIC: 208390351
2. Purpose
. The policy ensures a professional, consistent and recognisable appearance for operational effectiveness and public trust.
This policy aims to:
- Ensure professional and uniform presentation of all personnel
- Maintain safety, cohesiveness and operational clarity
- Enable public, client and interagency identification of NCPS staff
- Support nondiscriminatory and lawful application of dress standards
3. Scope
This policy applies to all NCPS personnel required to wear a uniform, including:
- Full-time, part-time, temporary staff, contractors and volunteers
- Anyone representing NCPS in a uniformed capacity
4. Uniform Standards
4.1 Required Uniform Components
Personnel must wear the following while on duty:
- Shirt or Top:
- Black shirt or t-shirt is standard
- White shirt is allowed only with black trousers, a black necktie and if required, a black jacket
- Trousers:
- Black trousers are mandatory. No other colour is permitted
- Footwear:
- Black shoes or boots must be worn. They must be non-slip and in good condition
- Black socks are required
- Belt:
- A plain black belt must be worn. No external logos or designs are allowed
- High-Visibility Vest:
- Yellow high-visibility vest for high visibility personnel
- Black tactical vest for designated personnel only
- No other vest colours are permitted
4.2 Prohibited Clothing and Items
- Headgear:
Only officially issued or person specific approved headwear is permitted - Face Coverings:
Not allowed, except when mandated by law or public health requirements - Non-uniform Colours:
Wearing non-black or non-white clothing components is strictly prohibited - Unauthorised Insignia:
No personalised logos, badges or decorations may be added to the uniform
4.3 Grooming and Appearance
- Uniforms must be clean, ironed and undamaged
- Hair must be neatly groomed
- Facial hair must be either clean-shaven or neatly trimmed as operational needs require
- Good personal hygiene must be maintained
- Only NCPS issued identification is allowed on the uniform
5. Special Considerations
- NCPS will provide reasonable accommodations in line with Bulgarian anti-discrimination law (Закон за защита от дискриминация) for medical, religious or personal reasons
- Requests for exemptions must be submitted in writing with supporting documentation
6. Monitoring and Enforcement
- Supervisors are responsible for ensuring compliance
- Violations may result in:
- Warnings (verbal or written)
- Disciplinary action, in line with internal rules and Bulgarian labour legislation (Кодекс на труда)
- In serious or repeated cases, suspension or termination
7. Review and Updates
This policy is reviewed annually or when:
- Relevant legislation changes
- NCPS operational requirements change
- New uniform items are introduced
All updates will be communicated to personnel in writing.
